Branksome Hall, an independent day and boarding school for girls in Toronto, sought out Cicada to assist with their MAKE WAY campaign; a fundraising intiative for their new iCAST facility. This endeavor, the Innovation Centre and Studio Theatre, will further demonstrate Branksome Hall as a leader in STEM education.

For the Fundraising event, Cicada developer modular exhibit displays with custom branded graphics that celebrate Branksome Hall’s history and future vision for the iCAST addition, integrating VR, video and touch screen elements into the overall experience.

Adding New
Dimension to
the Brand

The graphic design for the exhibits is built on the identity and visual system established by Bruce Mau Design. Our team translated these elements into experienital aspects, both in print and digital, by incorporating narrative development, 3D design visualizations, photography and a comprehensive graphic narrative.
Thematic elements defined the separate stations of the exhibit to showcase Branksome Hall’s history, school vision, the iCAST facility itself, and calls to action to become engage in the campaign. All of this is built on the brand identity to make the exhibits and campaign a cohesive communications package.

Experience
The Future

Building on digital media our team created, including VR image creation, visualization and animation, the experience of the future iCAST facility was expanded to touch screens and branded VR headsets, allowing multiple touchpoints for visitors to explore the project and campaign initiative.

The visualization of the iCAST building were instrumental in communicating the scale and impact the new facility will have in STEM education. The striking design features of the multiple spaces are celebrated in the expanded media deliverables including renderings, animation and virtual reality.

Behind the
Scenes

Cicada’s digital imagery and animation became a central feature in public engagement sessions, used on screen, print, web and social media to excite the community about the possibilities for the Lakeview site. In turn this encouraged feedback to assist the design team in refining the plan to best suit the future residents and visitors.

Putting it in Context

A playful graphic language was developed to show the features of the office tower, it’s location within Austin, and proximity to the highlights and amenities of the area.

By clarifying the visual style and graphic animation, information was made integral to the CG camera movements, and information became easy to understand.
